When we first wrote this article in 2024, the iPhone 17 was only a rumour and we estimated a $799 starting price. Apple announced the iPhone 17 family in September 2025, and the estimate was right: the iPhone 17 launched at $799 in the US, now with 256GB as the base storage. A year later the lineup has moved on, so this page now tracks what the iPhone 17 actually costs today in the six markets we originally covered: the US, UK, Germany, Spain, India and Mexico.
iPhone 17 launch prices (September 2025)
In the US, Apple launched the iPhone 17 at $799 (256GB), the new iPhone Air at $999, the iPhone 17 Pro at $1,099 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1,199. Doubling the base storage to 256GB on every model was the headline change, which is why the cheapest iPhone 17 cost the same as the 128GB iPhone 16 the year before.
Today Apple sells the iPhone 17 256GB for $929 and the 512GB version for $1,129 before sales tax.

United States
The iPhone 17 costs $929 in the US, ranking #2 of 44 countries for price. Keep in mind that US prices exclude sales tax, which adds between 0% and roughly 10% depending on the state.
United Kingdom
In the UK the iPhone 17 costs £899 (about $1,193), which is 28% more than the US price. UK prices include 20% VAT.
Germany and Spain
In Germany the iPhone 17 costs €1,099 and in Spain €1,109. Both include VAT (19% in Germany, 21% in Spain), which explains most of the gap with the US.
India
