iPhone 16 Price in Italy (2026): Apple Store Price & Deals

Unlike older models, the iPhone 16 is still sold new by Apple in Italy. Since September 2025 it is Apple's previous-generation model, kept in the lineup in its 128GB version. The iPhone 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have been discontinued. Here is what the iPhone 16 costs in Italy today and how it compares with the rest of Europe.

Apple Italy sells the iPhone 16 128GB for €1,029, VAT (IVA 22%) included. Other storage sizes have been withdrawn, so if you need more space you will have to look at the iPhone 17, which starts with 256GB at €1,129.

iPhone 16 launch prices in Italy (September 2024)

• iPhone 16 Plus: €1,129
• iPhone 16 Pro: €1,239

Is Italy a good place to buy the iPhone 16?

Italy is one of the more expensive countries in the euro area because of its 22% VAT. Here is how it compares with its neighbours (official Apple prices, 128GB):

iPhone 16 or iPhone 17e?

The iPhone 17e is cheaper than the iPhone 16 in Italy (€879 vs €1,029) and comes with twice the storage and a newer chip. The iPhone 16 has a dual camera with an ultra-wide lens and the Camera Control button, so compare the camera specs before you choose. If storage matters more than the camera, the 17e is the better value.

Where to buy a refurbished iPhone 16 Pro in Italy

Since Apple no longer sells the iPhone 16 Pro new, refurbished (ricondizionato) is the safest way to get one. The main options in Italy are:

• Swappie, which specialises in refurbished iPhones and tests them in its own facilities.
• Back Market, a marketplace of professional refurbishers with several cosmetic grades.
• Amazon Rigenerati, Amazon's renewed programme with its own return policy.
• Mobile operators and electronics chains, which sometimes clear remaining new stock at a discount.

Before you pay, check:

• Battery health: look for 85% or more, or a replaced battery.
• Warranty: professional sellers in the EU must provide at least a 12-month legal guarantee on used goods.
• Network lock and iCloud: the phone must be unlocked and signed out of the previous owner's Apple Account.

Compare refurbished prices with the cheapest new iPhone: the iPhone 17e currently costs €879 at Apple Italy, new and covered by the two-year EU legal guarantee. A refurbished older model is only a good deal if it costs clearly less.
